It’s always such an honor for me to provide music for funerals and memorial services. During times of grief and sorrow, music can be such a healing element for those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. At no other time can the lyrics of a song move a heart so deeply.

With little time to prepare for the funeral of your loved one, you need a musician who can learn a requested song quickly and whose schedule is flexible enough to accommodate your needs. I am exceptionally well-trained in voice and piano and have many times needed to perform a piece of music having had less than an hour to prepare. Being a stay-at-home mom with a freelance career allows me the ability to be available with very short notice.

The honorarium for this service can be handled in one of two ways. Many times, the funeral home director will pay my fee as a sub-contract. This is an advantage for you, the patron, in that it’s one less detail you need to worry about the day of the funeral. The fee is then included on the patron’s final invoice from the funeral home. I have also provided music for memorial services in which the family provided a cash honorarium the day of the service. Either method is acceptable. The standard funeral honorarium is $75.00 for piano or vocal and $150 for vocal & piano combined.
