Bio

I’m a classically trained musician…I studied piano for 16 years and classical voice for 8 years.  I got my Bachelors in Music from UW-Stevens Point.  After graduating with my Masters in Vocal Performance from UM-Twin Cities, I was working a lot as a piano accompanist and private voice/piano teacher.

I didn’t start singing gospel music until grad school, when I met Christian record producer, Nate Sabin, and joined his church gospel choir.  It wasn’t long before I realized that performing classical music was very fulfilling, but it wasn’t my calling. I started to pursue contemporary Christian music as my main venue.  Since 1997, I’ve been freelancing as a vocal soloist, keyboard player, and worship leader.  I got my dream job in 2004 at Woodlands Church in Plover, WI when I joined the staff as a part-time worship assistant.  That’s when I realized that being a worship leader was God’s call on my life.  Since then, I’ve been developing my craft and in the fall of ’09 I’ll start touring with my solo worship concert, The Life Of Christ:  A Portrait Through Song & Scripture

As a worship leader, one of my favorite venues is women’s ministry.  I’ve led worship at numerous retreats and conferences in central Wisconsin.  I have a passion for serving women with my music and leading them into God’s presence.

In December of ’07, I was invited by Matt & Sherry McPherson to join the City Prayz band as a featured vocalist.  City Prayz is a quarterly community-wide worship event at the La Crosse Center in downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin. We draw a crowd of approximately 1,200 people each month.  In July of ’09, our band was featured at the More Conference in St Paul, along with Paul Baloche, Shane & Shane, Bethany Dillon and Jason Gray.

I started my journey as a songwriter the summer of ’07, when during a 2-day worship team retreat, I was approached three times with the question “So…you write music?”  Third time’s a charm, right?!  Its been amazing to sit down at the piano and pull these songs out of my heart.  I’m so excited about my new album, Red Light, Green Light.

When I’m not singing, I’m taking care of my husband and kids in my full-time position as a domestic engineer [this job has great perks and a fabulous vacation package!].  As much as I love music, these guys are still at the top of my to-do list.
